Since the introduction of cable television 65 years ago, we have made more than leaps and bounds with what our cable packages offer. Today, cable bundles include cable television, high speed internet services, home automation systems, FM radio programming and land line telephone service all on one bill. Finding an affordable internet service alone was a daunting task but 10 years ago.
Cable television is able to be received at a given location through cable distribution lines, which are either on local utility poles or utility lines located underground. In order to access cable packages, one must live along, or near enough to one of these access points. If you are in one of these designated areas (which is most of the US), available cable packages in your area give you the option of having just one of the services, or the internet, cable TV, telephone service, and home security systems for one discounted bundle price.
Internet access has become paramount for personal development and social progress in the 21st century, and is seen to be a basic utility, just as telephones, water, and electricity. There is little debate as to whether or not the internet is necessary to fully be a part of contemporary society. Cable packages provide this crucial service (along with many others) on one, reduced, convenient bill per month.

Screw cable packages. I can get high speed internet for $20 a month.
True, nobody uses land lines any more anyway. Why pay all the extra money for services you will rarely use.
